In a late-night order February 9, Judge Kenneth J. Gonzales temporarily blocked the transfer of three immigrants with a long-standing legal challenge against their “unconstitutionally prolonged” detention after fleeing Venezuela and seeking protection in the United States.

A federal judge in New Mexico on Sunday granted a preemptive restraining order to block the U.S. government from sending three Venezuelan men detained in the state from being sent to a military base in Guantanamo Bay,

The men, who are detained in New Mexico, say they “fit the profile” of the type of migrants the Trump administration has started sending to the Navy base in Cuba.
