The Tesla Cybertruck finally has its first crash safety rating over a year after deliveries first began in November 2023. And like all other Tesla vehicles before it, the electric truck scored a 5-star rating in nearly all the individual categories.

Ever since Tesla first unveiled the Cybertruck design back in 2019, many gearheads around the world have been roasting it, sometimes even calling it an abomination. However, the truck's angular, futuristic design still appealed to a lot of people.

These days, Tesla and its vehicles are in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. But the Cybertruck has finally undergone crash tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the results have been shared with the public.

Tesla's Cybertruck may boast a polarizing design, but the federal government says it's certainly not an unsafe one. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration's testing, the Cybertruck has received five-star ratings in multiple safety trial crash tests — and appears even safer than most pickup trucks in at least one category.
