Officials are grappling with the aftermath of the atmospheric river which caused mudslides and floods, especially in areas impacted by wildfires.

Just over a month after thousands fled their homes as California saw the most destructive wildfires in its history, communities across the south of the state have now been hit by flash flooding and mudslides.

Forecasters are concerned the storm could bring mudslides in and near areas scorched by the Palisades and Eaton fires.

The strongest storm of the season swept through Southern California on Thursday and drenched areas already scarred from the wildfires. FOX's Bill Melugin reports from Los Angeles.
