SUNRISE, Fla. -- Cam Talbot made 41 saves, including 23 in the third period, and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Florida Panthers 5-2 at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday. Dylan Larkin had two goals and an assist for the Red Wings (21-19-4), who scored three power-play goals and are 8-1-0 in their past nine games.

The Los Angeles Kings are in town and have practically owned the Florida Panthers over the last several seasons. Just last Wednesday, the Kings scored twice in the third to squeeze out a 2-1 win in Los Angeles.

Special teams success was the key to victory for the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night. The Red Wings dominated on the power play, scoring three times on just four shots to take down the Florida Panthers 5-2 at Amerant Bank Arena.

Jonatan Berggren, Dylan Larkin and Patrick Kane had power-play goals, but it was Marco Kasper's long range shot 1 minute, 57 seconds after Kane scored, at 15:41 of the second period, that gave the Wings a 4-2 lead and moved Florida to pull goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (11 saves on 15 shots) with Spencer Knight.

The Red Wings (23-21-5, 51 points) have won back-to-back games, both with Talbot in net. Talbot is 7-1-0 in his past eight starts. The one loss was a 5-1 setback at Tampa Bay Jan. 18 when he was pulled after two periods.
