A northwest Indiana man who was charged in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was shot and killed by an Indiana sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon.

A fatal shooting occurred during a traffic stop by a Jasper County sheriff's deputy, resulting in the death of the suspect. Details released.

"During the traffic stop, the officer attempted to arrest the suspect when the suspect resisted," according to state police.
