No one wants to hear it, but Pittsburgh is pretty Midwestern. The big picture: With Pittsburgh being at the confluence of several regions, the debate about our identity is perpetual, and now is as good a time as any to reignite the argument.

Huntington National Bank plans to close a branch in downtown Pittsburgh because it is moving its regional headquarters out of the building. The Columbus-based bank also recently closed a drive-thru branch north of Pittsburgh – although the receiving branch in the suburb of New Castle is just around the corner, about 500 feet away.

The National Weather Service's Pittsburgh office has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of the region.
