Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin has scored goals against more unique goalies than any player in NHL history, passing Jaromir Jagr.

Alex Ovechkin broke the NHL record for the most goaltenders scored on, beating Leevi Merilainen in overtime to give the Washington Capitals a 1-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

Alex Ovechkin made no secret of his feelings when reacting to his historic goal in the Washington Capitals' win over the Ottawa Senators in the 2024-25 NHL season.

“I’ve definitely seen that time and time again,” said Ottawa defenceman Nick Jensen, dealt to the Senators by the Caps in the off-season. “He’s been able to produce like this year after year so it’s no surprise that he can still do it.”
