The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place in Pakistan and Dubai, beginning on February 19. Pakistan, the defending champions, will play New Zealand in the opening match. The tournament will follow a hybrid format due to security concerns raised by India.

Renamed the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002, the tournament changed from a two-year to a four-cycle after the 2009 competition that South Africa hosted. Pakistan was to host it in 2008. There has been an intense debate about the need to run the Champions Trophy in addition to the ICC's ODI World Cup.

Amid the delay in announcing the squad for CT 2025, the BCCI on Saturday announced the Team India squad for upcoming five-match T20I series against England, beginning from 22 January in Kolkata.
