South Alabama on Saturday added a transfer portal commitment from former South Carolina offensive lineman Ni Mansell. Mansell (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) played in two games for the Gamecocks this past season after redshirting in 2023 due to injury and has one season of eligibility remaining.

At 5-foot-9, 224 pounds, the veteran should serve as a change-of-pace backup option for a running back room that will once again be led by Jam Miller. Alabama suffered a huge transfer portal blow with Justice Haynes leaving for Michigan, so bringing in a similarly built back like Washington to fill the gap is a smart move for Kalen DeBoer's staff.

A few pieces are locked in with LT Overton, Justin Jefferson, Domani Jackson and Deontae Lawson each returning for the 2025 season. Alabama football linebacker Sterling Dixon will enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. Dixon is a former four-star prospect from Spanish Fort. Dixon saw time in three games: Western Kentucky, Missouri and Mercer. Dixon was used on special teams and on defense. Dixon had one tackle in 2024.
