California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) says he has "absolute faith" in his state's leaders when asked about Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Bass has been criticized for being out of town on a trip to Ghana while wildfires burned in her city.

Nathan Click, a spokesperson for Newsom, added that "the same group of far-right activists have launched six different recall attempts against the governor since he's taken office
