Taoiseach Micheál Martin has insisted scenes which saw trees “falling like dominoes” onto power lines that saw tens of thousands of homes left for days without power will “no longer be tolerated”.

Indigenous rangers are "the eyes and ears for north Australia", keeping wildlife safe from ghost nets and coastlines free from rubbish. Technology is giving them new ways to watch the coasts.
