The FDA recalled more than 2,000 cases of Great Value chicken broth sold at 242 Walmart locations across the nine states due to compromised packaging that could lead to bacterial spoilage, which could be undetectable through taste and smell.

Walmart is making the headlines again, this time for recalling a common ingredient from its stores across nine US states.

That chicken broth you’ve been stocking up on for soup season might be a part of a recent recall. Walmart advises checking labels on their Great Value Family Size 48-ounce chicken broth cartons included in the recall.

Walmart urges those who purchased the chicken broth to throw it away or return it for a full refund. The retailer is currently working with its supplier to investigate. According to the Mayo Clinic, using the recalled broth could lead to food poisoning, which includes symptoms like upset stomach, diarrhea or vomiting.

If you purchased the broth in either Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Texas, you are encouraged to not consume the broth and are eligible for a full refund. The grocer said it is working with the supplier to investigate the cause of the issue.
