Live band PA - Powered Subwoofer size/wattage for smaller venues
Oct 7, 2023 · My band has been using one powered alto ts312s 12" sub and had worked great for indoor smallish to medium gigs. Even some smaller outdoor gigs has worked out ok. Almost got a used ELX200-12SP but the alto was on sale and ended up grabbing one of it to test it out.
Best PA setup for live band all direct - The Gear Page
Jun 14, 2021 · A: From play-for-tips local bars to high-dollar weddings, countless gigs are played every night with subs and a pair of 10" or (more commonly) 12" powered tops. So a lot of bands have calculated that QSC/EV/Yamaha XX12s (or whathaveyou) offer an appealing balance of cost, performance, weight, and reliability, as long as you don't need a more ...
Live Vocal Mic Pre? - The Gear Page
Jan 15, 2009 · 2. Competition - your band has to play at a reasonable stage volume. If the vocals are the most important part of the song (which they typically are in vocal-based pop music), then they need to stand out. If the band is so loud (which often happens) then it's a struggle just to get you HEARD, much less get you sounding GOOD!
Matrix GT1000FX Review (yes, another one)UPDATE: Cut out on …
Feb 28, 2013 · First, I want to commend Matrix amps for such a speedy turnaround. I decided to pull the trigger late Sunday night, and the amp arrived Thursday morning all the way from Great Britain to Minnesota. Pretty remarkable if you ask me. My current power amp I've been using live is a Crown XLS402.
Power Requirement for Gig - The Gear Page
Feb 17, 2023 · FWIW, I was doing a monthly job at a venue and was told we were on two circuits. Turns out it was one. Only blew one time and it was with a heavy rock band. That was running rcf ttl6a, two 9006 subs, five monitor mixes, and a basic light rig. Most users will be fine on a 20amp circuit. What is often overlooked is voltage.
Mixer for 8 piece band - The Gear Page
Sep 7, 2023 · I'd also look hard at monitor mixes, and whether or not anyone wants/needs stereo (with 8 piece band, probably not!) Never been a fan of sharing monitor mixes. With a Behringer mixer, you could invest in the P16m monitor mixers with the ethernet switch units (that will power them apparently), but the main advantages over tablets are: knobs and ...
PA: How Many Watts Do I need? - The Gear Page
Mar 5, 2011 · When we rehearse, we play pretty quietly and run edrums and vocals through a single 200 watt powered monitor. We're a fairly typical bar band and when we play out we use a pair of 400 watt powered mains, a pair of 720 watt powered subs and three 200 watt monitors and mic everything and that works well for us.
Just picked up a Walla Walla telecaster guitar | The Gear Page
Aug 17, 2023 · Jammed with friends last night and the guys were commented that it was the best my guitar ever sounded , and I've brought all kinds of nice guitars (Fender, Gibson, Charvel, etc ) there. Lightweight tele that sounded really good through my DR Z M12 and pedalboard.
Dimarzio Bluesbuckers - The Gear Page
Jun 19, 2017 · There are really good P90's in humbucker size that you could try - if you want P90's sounds. On the hybrid side, for example Lindy Fralin makes "Big Single" and P92's, and I know both Lollar and DiMarzio are on similar tracks.
IEM Rig: best way to connect with FOH? - The Gear Page
Feb 14, 2024 · We're talking about the "Average Joe" kinds of bands showing up to a 200 seat venue with an IEM rack, and asking the underpaid and under-equipped sound guy to royally **** up his i/o patching for just one band out of the night. Whereas every other band that night is happy to use the house monitoring. That's the new sentiment we're talking about ...
